my story

The heart of Renee's salsa

Welcome to my kitchen! I’m Renee, and I am so happy you’re here to learn
a little more about how Renee’s Salsa came to be.

Based right here in the beautiful community of Chalk River, Ontario,
my journey into the world of canning and salsa-making didn't start in a
commercial kitchen—it started at home, fueled by family, love, and a simple
craving.

the beginning

For many years, salsa was just a special treat I made for my family.

My journey began with a focus on two staple flavors: Tomato and Zucchini. Back then, I wasn't just making it for fun—I was making it because my family couldn't get enough of it!

What started as a single batch quickly grew into multiple batches per season. As fast as I could fill the jars, they were empty.

My passion for preservation was originally sparked by my mom, who taught me the art of canning the basics. I became fascinated with the process, eventually expanding my skills until I was canning almost everything for our household pantry.

the turning point

The leap from a kitchen hobby to a business happened because of a little nudge from my partner. He isn’t typically a fan of tomatoes or traditional salsa, but he fell in love with my zucchini recipe. When he told me, "You should sell this—it’s that good. I don’t like tomatoes or salsa, but I love your zucchini salsa. It’s the best I have ever eaten," I knew I had something special worth sharing.

That encouragement gave me the confidence to open my kitchen to all of you.

growing the line

Since officially launching, I’ve had so much fun experimenting with vibrant, fresh flavors.

Beyond our classic roots, I have expanded into a variety of fruit-forward salsas, including:
• Mango Pineapple
• Peach Apple
• Cranberry

what's next?

I am always dreaming up new combinations to keep your tastebuds excited.

I am currently considering adding Green Tomato, Papaya, or even a Plum salsa to the lineup.

What do you think? I’d love to hear which of those sounds like your next favorite jar!

One thing remains the same

Regardless of what is simmering on the stove, one thing remains constant: my mom is still by my side, always eager to jump in and help me make every batch the very best it can be.

Thank you for being part of this delicious journey with me!
